An Even Closer Look
The cards main focus is the IceQ X cooler. When removed it shows the sheer size of the heatsink and heatpipe design that flows into the core of the cooler. The baseplate is made from copper and makes direct contact with the cards GPU whilst the bulk of the heatsink is made from individual fins.

The PCB is a custom design by HIS and includes extra cooling for the memory chips in the form of a metal plate with thermal pads making contact with the Elpida branded memory.

There is also a very small VRM heatsink to provide extra cooling to the card and help with heat dissipation of the VRMs. Don’t let looks fool you with regards to this, as we’ve seen first hand how much of a benefit an item like this can make.
