HTC has made a big marketing mistake. They’ve tried to come across as ‘cool’ and ‘hip’ by making a rap to bash their biggest competitors. “Doc G’s HTC Anthem “Hold the Crown” w/ David Bruce” is a terrible attempt to appeal to younger smartphone users.
In the video, they claim that it took Apple and Samsung 6 years to ‘copy’ HTC and that they had everything first. It features cheesy lines like “More than a few clowns stole what we originated, We own the universe, your Galaxy is overrated” and “Your chip is slower, But you’ll never touch our BoomSound”. It also has an odd nod to HTC CEO, Peter Chou.
