HyperX Pulsefire FPS Optical Gaming Mouse Review

A Closer Look

The Pulsefire comes hard-wired with a black and red braided cable. It’s quite a slim and lightweight cable, which is good as it’ll prevent too much drag from the cable, but it also feels nice and strong, so you shouldn’t have any issues with it wearing out.

The mouse is quite simple regarding design and comes with a relatively standard button configuration. Of course, the finer details are what make this a robust gaming mouse. The left side is heavily scooped out, giving you a nice ergonomic shape that will work well for multiple grip types. The hard-wearing textured rubber will improve your overall grip and control of the mouse.

Both side buttons are mounted flush, but they have a light and tactile switchs that are very easy to control.

Down the right side, another tough rubber grip. It gives you extra control when using a claw or fingertip grip style. The wider design of the mouse, as well as the raised top section, are well suited to palm rest too; it is ideal for those who like to switch hand positions while gaming.

The front of the mouse sweeps out and becomes much wider; this gives you a much bigger surface area for the LMB and RMB. Each of the front switches has a scooped out design too, which helps your fingers rest more naturally in the centre of each, giving you improved control. There’s a large scroll wheel, with a soft rubber grip and while it has a fast action, it also has a noticeable tactile bump when turned for extra precision.

On the base, things are pretty minimalist, and that super flat shape will help improve glide. However, the coolest thing here are those two large slipmats, which help the Pulsefire glide effortlessly on everything from soft mats to hard cloth.
