HyperX PulseFire Haste Gaming Mouse Review

How Much Does it Cost?

The HyperX Pulsefire Haste is available now from most major retailers, with an MSRP of around £50 it’s certainly priced competitively. That being said, there’s a few ultralight mice on the market these days for a similar price, giving HyperX some stiff competition. That being said, they’re got great performance, and it’s also one of the lightest in its class, so at this price, I’d be more than happy to fork over the cash. You can order directly from HyperX or from Amazon here.

Overview

The number of gamers shifting towards ultralight gaming mice has been growing steadily over the last year or two. Every major brand has at least one ultralight in their range now, which is great for consumers, as it gives you plenty of choice and the ability to pick from your favourite brands. That being said, HyperX has a solid fanbase of their own, and this is now the lightest mouse they produce, so I’m sure it’ll be a bit hit with gamers.

At 59 grams, it’s one of the lightest mice on the market, but what really puts it into the big leagues are those premium PTFE pads. Even if this mouse was several times heavier, it would still glide with ease on those pads. Plus, if you do wear them out from a few thousand hours of frantic gameplay, they’ve lovingly included a second set in the box for you to change them, which really adds to the overall value. Furthermore, there’s a grip tape kit in the box, should you wish to add that to the side of the mouse.

The open design makes the mouse light, but it also looks really cool too. I like the passive airflow and breathability it provides too, and it’s just very comfortable to hold and to use for extended periods of time. While the weight makes it nimble, it can also help to reduce hand fatigue after a long session. It’s nice that HyperX equipped the mouse with a more premium switch kit too, and their dust-proof design means that the open design won’t compromise on their performance over time.

Should I Buy One?

HyperX may have trimmed down the weight, but they’ve also put a lot of quality into this mouse too. It’s incredibly durable, and the click response feels really tight and nimble, while the PTFE feet and that sensor makes it easy to take precise control in any game you desire. It’s fast, light, durable, stylish and fairly priced, it’s really as simple as that! Highly recommend.
