In Win GRone Full Tower Chassis Review

It’s fairly obvious by this point that the GRone is doing well, it’s overall style is both unique and stunning to look at, but doesn’t compromise even the slightest on functionality. The build process was quick, painless and in the end gave excellent final results and of course the overall capabilities of the chassis in terms of component compatibility are uncompromising.

I really like what In Win have done in terms of style here, I’m not normally a fan of their style choices (sorry In Win) and that’s not to say they make ugly computer chassis, but each of their designs offers a look of unique style choices that fall into the love/hate category, the same can be said for the Grone. While I love the design here, I’m certain it won’t be to everyone’s taste. The big blue window really does stand out though and it’s styled in a way that I haven’t seen before thanks to both it’s large window design and blue tint, it really makes this chassis stand out from the crowd and in my opinion that is a good thing.

The style points continue throughout the chassis, with an excellent front panel design that is both great to look at and functional. A well styled top panel that offers plenty of ventilation for the array of cooling options that you can install while looking like it was styled on the engine cover of a super car.

The chassis is extremely well built too, I was worried that with such a large side panel window that the integrity of the panel would be compromised, but this really isn’t the case thanks to it’s durable steel construction  This is true of the rest of the chassis with features thick cut panels that don’t bend or squeak what the chassis is being moved around. The only downside of this is weight, the chassis is a little on the heavy side when empty and once I had the system full installed it required a fair bit of effort to move around. This is again a good thing, it feels like a premium product that has been built to last, just be prepared to get some exercise if you plan on carrying it to a LAN party any time soon.

So there we have it, a truly solid design from In Win and easily one of the finest examples of chassis design I’ve ever had the pleasure of reviewing, this isn’t just one of my all time favourite chassis but it’s performance well exceeds it’s price tag.

It may not be cheapest gaming chassis on the market but you do get a lot of performance, style and build quality for your money. With most chassis you could aim for at least two out of those three things to be happy with your purchase, the GRone delivers on all fronts which is why I am happy to award it with out eTeknix Editors Choice Award.
