There are several tools currently available that are meant to protect our PCs from hacker attacks, including advanced firewalls and encryption software. However, the Indian Government has taken things to completely new level, as it is now launching its very own operating system that’s set to replace Windows. Dubbed Bharat Operating System Solutions or “BOSS”, the OS was created by the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing, and it has passed a difficult crash test with great success.
It will soon be implemented in various government offices, many of which currently rely on Windows. The latest version of BOSS has received several upgrades when compared to its predecessor from 2007, which lacked certain user-friendly options and fast upgrade support. When describing the new OS, an official has stated the following:
“We have no dearth of developers here. BOSS has almost all the features that one can get in, say, Windows. The earlier version was less user-friendly and had few features. We will seek help of Indian software biggies to develop it further.”
What do you think about the BOSS OS? I don’t know if it is actually hacker-proof, but it definitely represents a step in the right direction.
