Intel Confirms 14th-Gen Meteor Lake Processors Will Debut Later This Year

Over recent months, there have been more than a few rumours swirling around the internet that Intel had been planning to slightly delay the release of its 14th-gen desktop Meteor Lake processors until some time around Q1 2024. – This was a two-part theory in firstly the exceptionally strong indication that their current-gen Raptor Lake models would see a pretty significant refresh later this year. Additionally, with Meteor Lake moving to a new socket design (surprise surprise for Intel), it was understood that Team Blue may have just wanted LGA1700 to have a little more breathing room on the market before moving onto something new.

Following a report via Videocardz, however, while it does still appear that Raptor Lake refreshes are on the way this year, it would also appear that Meteor Lake is still set for release, or at least its partial debut, before the end of 2023!

Intel Meteor Lake is Still on Target for 2H 2023!

Just to reiterate the point, this isn’t a new rumour or leak. This information has come direct from Intel which clearly cites that Meteor Lake is still on target for release at some point later this year. – In this regard, however, we expect to see a similar pattern as taken with Raptor Lake where September/October will see the launch of their new flagship models (i9-14900K for example) with later designs arriving in January 2024.

An interesting addition to this news, however, is that Intel has also confirmed that their next-gen graphics cards (Battlemage) are still set for a 2024 release, and more so, we might even see some revised Arc Alchemist (Alchemist+) models later this year. Oh, and if that wasn’t enough, their 15th-gen Lunar Lake processors are also apparently on target for late 2024 (again, likely repeating the aforementioned pattern).

All in all, it still seems pretty clear that Intel is exceptionally busy at the moment and we have a lot to look forward to in the coming years!
