Intel Confirms Alder Lake-P Mobile CPUs are Now Shipping to ‘Customers’

It’s been known for quite some time now that Intel’s upcoming 12th-gen Alder Lake-P laptop processors were coming. It was just a question of when. – While it was widely expected that Intel would formally confirm their launch at CES 2022 (which starts on January 5th), however, this wasn’t necessarily anything indicative of an actual release date. They did, after all, have to go to laptop manufacturers so they could, you know, start building their new models!

Well, following a Twitter post by Gregory M Bryant, Executive Vice President & General Manager at Intel Client Computing Group (quite a title!), he has confirmed that Alder Lake-P is now officially ‘shipping out’ to their ‘customers’.

Intel Alder Lake-P Mobile CPUs Are Shipping

Now, what exactly does this mean? Well, this does require some clarification of the term ‘customers’. – Put simply, this isn’t you. Why? Well, Intel doesn’t really make laptops. What they’re basically saying here is that their Alder Lake-P processors have started shipping, quite literally, to their customers. This means manufacturers like Dell, HP, Razer, ASUS, Lenovo, etc. will shortly be getting their deliveries, and, by proxy, be ready to finally start assembling their new, and likely very potent indeed, Intel Alder Lake-P laptop designs.

Something to Get Excited About!

Based on the leaks we’ve seen so far, the Alder Lake-P platform is going to be incredibly potent. As such, we can very likely expect to see a huge leap forward in gaming laptop designs. When will we see them, though? Well, our best guess is that with the CPUs now shipping, manufacturers will have at least some models available for CES 2022 so that they can be officially launched, showcased, and displayed.

In terms of an actual retail release? One you can get your hands on and, who knows, perhaps purchase? In this regard, we suspect that new Alder Lake-P laptops will hit the market in either late January or early to mid-February! – Expect big things from these processors!
