Intel Z890 Chipset and Arrow Lake CPUs to Support Over 9000 MT/s DDR5 Speeds

Intel‘s upcoming Arrow Lake-S processors, set to launch soon, will bring new memory speed milestones for desktop systems. Paired with the Z890 chipset, these CPUs will support DDR5 memory speeds of over 9000 MT/s in overclock mode. This marks a major improvement over previous generations.

According to information from motherboard manufacturers like ASRock, the Z890 Taichi board will support up to 9200 MT/s DDR5 speeds, particularly in a configuration with one DIMM per channel and single-rank modules.

For those looking for larger memory setups, the Z890 boards still offer impressive performance. In a two-DIMM-per-channel setup, the system supports overclock speeds of 6800+ MT/s. Even with high-capacity configurations like dual-rank DIMMs per channel, users can expect speeds of up to 5800+ MT/s, an improvement over current platforms. This paves the way for high-performance builds with 96 GB, 128 GB, or even 256 GB of memory without sacrificing speed.

Overclocking and Performance Boosts with ASRock Z890 Taichi

The ASRock Z890 Taichi motherboard has shown a drastic improvement in memory configuration support. The latest Intel CPUs will feature improved memory controllers, increasing the native support for DDR5 memory. In 1DPC 1R setups, the ASRock Z890 supports native speeds of 5600 MT/s, with an overclock potential of 9200+ MT/s.

The Z890 motherboards also offer the latest Intel Extreme Memory Profile (XMP) 3.0x technology to simplify overclocking. For even more flexibility, ASRock’s Hyper BCLK engine could allow non-K series CPUs to be overclocked, pending Intel’s approval.
