At the time of writing, Kingston’s DCP1000 (SEDC1000H) with 1.6 TB will set you back £1880.27.
There can be no doubt, Kingston’s DCP1000 is as unusual a drive as it is awesome. Due to the pure passthrough design, it’s up to your system to make the necessary storage pools. That kind of design allows you to scale with only your PCIe slots being the limit. Create some of the fastest storage pools possible for your HPC tasks. And these can be many.
We saw a great drive and one that performs very well, even with Windows software RAID. Reaching the advertised performance figures was no problem for the drive which blasted through all our tests in no time. What a great drive. Read figures up to 7 GB/s where no problem while the write performance also impressed us.
The endurance is at least as great with a 1820TB rating for this capacity option. On top of that, you get Kingston’s amazing 5-year warranty.
System administrators will also love the ability for Enterprise SMART tools. They are for reliability tracking, usage statistics, life remaining, wear levelling, and temperature monitoring. Power-loss protection is also part of the package which is a truly important feature for a drive of this class.
“Kingston’s DCP1000 might not be a cheap drive, but it brings features and performance to the table to justify the costs. Simply an amazing drive!”
We would like to thank Kingston for this sample.
