Kingston HyperX Beast DDR3 2400MHz 8GB Memory Kit Review

We’re quite keen on Kingston products, and that’s why we use them in our case builds among other systems including our main test benches which feature the HyperX Solid State Drives. The reason we do this, is because we trust the brand, their products and know that consumers feel the same way.

Having this memory land with us before anyone else in the world was a great opportunity to see what it could do and we wasn’t let down, and that’s why we love Kingston products. There are a few things I want to touch on with this particular set of memory and the first comes down to the styling. The design is something Kingston have generally kept quite generic with blue everything, ranging from their SSD’s to memory and so forth but over the last year we’ve seen some improvements with the red modules and now this sexy black kit which looks like no other modules on the market so kudos to Kingston on that. The kit should match up nicely with most systems and mainboards on the market, especially with the high-end offerings from Gigabyte, Asus, ASRock and MSI as the majority of them are using black PCB’s now which compliments things further.

The performance of the memory showed some really strong results that left us very impressed, and though we’ve seen kits with tighter timings, this “Beast” of a kit didn’t fail to deliver at stock. While overclocking we did see some mixed results with some increases, and some decreases, we feel that Kingston have found the optimum performance at 2400MHz and for anything higher, other sku’s are available in both Predator and Beast ranges and obviously different quantities come into this too.

Pricing is everything these days, especially with the price of some kits on the market, but Kingston have somehow managed to make this kit extremely cheap and affordable, without skimping on quality. Coming in at under £50, this is a set of memory that anyone can be pleased with no matter what you are hoping to achieve.

Overall, anyone looking at purchasing a fast, high-end memory module kit from a reliable brand, will not be disappointed with the kit we looked at today, and for the price, it’s definitely an extreme performer.
