Kingston ships a USB 3.0 flash drive with a jaw-dropping 1TB capacity

Kingston has announced their new 1TB USB flash drive under its DataTraveler HyperX Predator 3.0 line-up, yes that is right – a 1TB USB flash drive. The current HyperX Predator 3.0 is shipped with a 512GB storage capacity. The 1TB version will be available this quarter (Q1 2013).

The company says that it offers read speeds of up to 240 MB/sec and write speeds up to 160 MB/sec. Though 1 TB is an insane amount of storage capacity to carry around with such a small form factor.

It should be a nice product but much will be dependent on the actual performance and the cost – which let’s face it, will NOT be cheap. Eventually, such drives will become more common place and come down in price but for now, Kingston grabs the bragging rights for having one of the first consumer 1TB USB flash drives.

The casing is made of a zinc alloy and Kingston ships these with a HyperX Valet keyboard. Kingston is giving a 5 year warranty period with this drive.
