Following the successful launch of Elon Musk’s Heavy Falcon rocket, the 27 engines sent a Tesla Roadster into space. It’s occupant, a figure wearing the Tesla Spacesuit, known as Starman, began its billion year mission around Mars.
With the Roadster now well on its way, the final image of Starman has been released.
I must admit, the whole thing completely amazed me and I think you would have to be very cold indeed to have not been impressed. This was a reusable rocket, firing 27 engines simultaneously, which managed to send a Tesla Roadster into space and on a trip to Mars. It’s not often you hear all of that in the same sentence.
Following the launch, all three booster rockets also successfully landed on their designated target pads. Overall it was a great success.
In a report via MSN, the above image will be the last recorded picture of Starman. Unless of course, he somehow puts the Roadster in reverse. It seems a fitting image with planet Earth framed so beautifully behind him.
He now begins his billion year mission around Mars in which one day, he may even park his car there.
While this might be the last we see of Starman, this isn’t the last we have seen of Elon Musk of his Space X project. With this test launch, and yes, it was a test, proving so massively successful, we can only wait to see what he comes up with next.
