LG Launches 27GK750F-B 27″ 240Hz FreeSync Gaming Monitor

Aside from announcing their upcoming Nano IPS HDR 600 monitors, LG is also expanding their gaming monitor line-up. The latest addition is the 27GK750F-B, a 27-inch gaming monitor with a 240Hz refresh rate and supports AMD’s FreeSync standard. It uses a Twisted Nematic (TN) panel with a maximum resolution of 1920 x 1080. TN panels are quite common for gaming monitors due to their fast response times and high refresh rates. However, TN panels have much narrower viewing angles than In-plane Switching (IPS) or Vertical Alignment (VA) panel monitors.

What sets the LG 27GK750F-B apart from other full HD monitors is its pure gaming pedigree. With a 240Hz refresh rate, games run smoother and motion blurring is minimal. In fact, LG boasts the monitor’s 1ms motion blur reduction. Less blurring means less ghosting, and better experience. This also means more details are noticeable while moving. Coupled with AMD’s FreeSync technology, the display is even sharper with reduced tearing and stuttering. This screen tearing often happens when the graphics card’s framerate and the monitor’s refresh rate are incongruous. AMD’s solution is also not hardware based unlike NVIDIA, which keeps the price of the FreeSync monitors lower by several hundred dollars.
The monitor measures 24.6″ x 14.58″ x 1.59″ without the ergonomic stand. With it, the screen can tilt -5 to +15 degrees, and it can swivel -20 to +20 degrees. The monitor height is also adjustable up to 110mm and it can pivot up to 90 degrees clockwise.
The panel itself has a 72% NTSC color gamut and a 0.31125 pixel pitch. The monitor has a minimum brightness of 320cd and a typical brightness of 400cd. In terms of connectivity, there are two HDMI 2.0 ports at the back, one DisplayPort 1.2, and three USB 3.0 ports (1 up and 2 down). These USB 3.0 ports support Quick Charge, and there is also a headphone out port. One DisplayPort and one HDMI port is included with the package.
