Aside from announcing their G613 wireless mechanical gaming keyboard recently, Logitech is also introducing the complimentary G603 lightspeed wireless gaming mouse to go along with it. It uses the same lightspeed technology for gaming-grade, low-latency performance. Logitech claims a 1ms report rate and optimal end-to-end wireless solution so it stays connected throughout. No connection dropping in the middle of a match.
Like the G613 mechanical gaming keyboard, the G603 gaming mouse also uses a pair of double A batteries. It is capable of delivering peak 1ms reporting performance for up to 500 hours of non-stop gaming. There is a switch in the underside of the mouse to set the G603 to “lo mode” where the reporting rate is set to 8ms instead of 1ms. This is useful for users who are not gaming and can operate up to 18 months with the same pair of AA batteries in 8ms mode.
The G603 uses Logitech’s latest H.E.R.O. or High Efficiency Rated Optical sensor. According to the company, it took them three years to develop this and boasts the highest performance/efficiency out of any other sensor. The HERO sensor has a DPI range of 200 to 12,000 with zero smoothing, acceleration or filtering. Since it is highly efficient, it is also the main reason why the G603 has such a long battery life.
The G603 mouse is available now for £69.99 GBP. Users can also buy it with the G613 keyboard for only £199.98 (the G613 keyboard by itself costs £129.99) via the Logitech store.
