Final Thoughts

Price

We couldn’t find exact prices for the new model online, but a few smaller retailers did have it in stock for £164.99, just a little more than the now slightly reduced model from earlier this year, which clocks in at £149.99. Obviously not cheap, but this is as feature packed as a high-end keyboard comes, so expect to pay a premium for it.

Overview

The new model is great, the old model was great, it’s really pretty close in terms of design and it’s knock for knock in terms of features to the old model too. I love that Logitech felt that they could do a little better, and much of that likely comes from the feedback of their customers. There have been some who didn’t like the wrist rest, those who said it was too big and those who weren’t happy with the key caps. Now the new models rocks up with a slimmer and lighter design, and ditches those funky key caps, creating a much sleeker and more refined G910 that has a more traditional keyboard feel to it.

Overall, I’m happy with the improvements, but I would say that I would be happy to use either this one or the old one. If I was going to purchase my first Romer-G keyboard, it would certainly be the new model, as the key caps are just that little bit more familiar to my finger tips, but it’s really a close call.

The price is a big factor here, this keyboard is expensive, but it’s about on par with the flagship keyboards from the likes of Corsair, Razer, Cherry and a few others, so it’s hard to say it’s overpriced. There are many fantastic keyboards on the market for less money, but if you want the flagship model, you’re going to be paying that premium for it.

Since the changes are quite minor, even though they do add up to a more significant improvement, I’m going to be sticking to my original award for the G910.

Pros

  • New slimmer design
  • Improved wrist rest ergonomics
  • More traditional key cap design
  • Exceptional RGB lighting
  • Macro keys
  • Dedicated multimedia keys
  • Romer-G switches

Cons

  • None

Neutral

  • Quite expensive

“Packing every feature you could hope for, the G910 is a gamers best weapon. A powerful macro engine, RGB lighting, fast and light switches, and a very unique design make the G910 Orion Spectrum one of the more interesting mechanical keyboards on the market today.”
