Mass Effect 3 PC Review

So there we have it, the third part in an already successful and award winning series, and a fitting end to the series too. It really is a must play trilogy or standalone title for anyone that is a fan of role playing games, space based fantasy, games with heavy exploration, moral choices, action, a gripping story and gorgeous graphics, this game really has a lot of things going for it and with Mass Effect 3, they have done a fantastic job of wrapping all these elements up in to one neat package.

Gameplay overall took me around 60 hours, a little more than some people will likely clock throughout the games main story, but there is enough on offer to keep you distracted for 100+ here should you feel the need, add to the the various DLC packs that have been released since the games arrival, none of which I have played, but they do offer even more ways to squeeze those precious extra hours out of the game should you wish to go down that route, I’m sure I will too when I have the time to do it all justice.

So even with the controversy that surrounded this game, although lets be honest, very few triple A titles come and go without making some kind of headline dismissing some part or another of their stories, with Mass Effect 3 being no stranger to all this due to its inclusion of same sex relationships and an end game that left a few people feeling ripped off and thousands more joining in for giggles when it came to petitioning about it.

Installation wasn’t too difficult and general setup of the game was simple enough though, as with the other Mass Effect titles the game was available on the Origin games service, which is a digital download platform much like Steam, only much less loved by the PC gaming community as a whole than Valves store front, but as we all know, EA do things their way and personally I’ve never had a problem with Origins service.

So if your looking to continue on with the story from the previous two titles, this game is an absolute no brainier, its by far the best of the three in my opinion and for those of you who want all the modern action without visiting the last two games, there is still plenty here to keep you on track, get you up to speed and keep you entertained.

I can’t recommend this game to RPG fans enough, be that on Playstation 3, Xbox 360, PC or even the recently announced port to the Wii-U that we can expect over the coming months. I have no doubt that this game is worthy of our Gamers Choice Award.
