MMO Gaming Mouse Roundup

  • Steelseries World of Warcraft Wireless MMO
  • Steelseries World of Warcraft Legendary Edition
  • Corsair Vengeance M95 MMO
  • Mad Catz M.M.0.7
  • Razer Naga Molten
  • Razer Naga Hex
  • TteSports Black Element

So there we have it, seven of the best gaming mice on the market put to the test and while we’ve seen all these mice before, sometimes it’s nice to put them all through their paces one last time, try a few new things with them and see how they hold up compared to their original reviews and of course each other.

The two Razer products were great, but I just couldn’t get used to the button layout of the Hex, it didn’t feel natural and I found myself constantly struggling to use it, its a great mouse, but it’s just not for me. That being said the Naga Hex was wonderful and while it did have more buttons on it I found it’s layout to be much more user-friendly, easier to read in a dark room and the LED backlight in red looks much better than the marble green on the Hex, making in my opinion the Molten the superior of the two. Both can be picked up for around £60-70 and both are great products, but the Molten is far better value for money.

Steelseries make some great products but I just wasn’t won over by these two, if your after a great performance wireless mouse you’re better off with some of the old school Logitech products or the new ones from MadCatz, however if you can get a good deal and your big on WoW then their wireless mouse is pretty cool with some really nice features, but the Legendary mouse left a lot to be desired and I would say unfortunately it was the least satisfying on the bunch.

The TteSports Black Element has a soft spot in my heart, while it’s not the best mouse here it’s certainly a contender, it’s incredibly good quality for such a small investment and I can’t think of anything else around that price range (£30) that even comes close. The software is great, ergonomics are good, style is good and the sensor is more than adequate given the retail price, so while it’s not my #1 choice, it certainly walks away with a well deserved badge of honour for being able to party with the more expensive mice here today.

My two favourite products here however are the M95 and the MMO7, they’re like two different favours of the same thing, both offer exceptional customisation options, both have the best build quality here, both cost about the same, both have a lot of buttons, both look fantastic. Yet while the M95 looks sophisticated and sleek, the M95 looks crazy and extreme, both have a unique button layout but both perform just as well as each other. They are the Bentley and Lamborghini of the MMO gaming mouse market, both incredible products but both taking a different path to the end result.

If I was pushed I would say the MMO7 was the best gaming mouse here, it’s laser focused on gaming and little else, but the M95 is just as great in day-to-day tasks and is more manageable to live with. I can’t pick between them and if I could let them fight it out between each other I’m certain it would be a double KO.
