MSI Announces BIOS Update To Fix BSODs With Intel 700 and 600 Series Motherboards

A few weeks ago MSI made an announcement regarding “UNSUPPORTED_PROCESSOR” errors on its Intel 700 and 600 series motherboards following the most recent Windows 11 update. Today the company has announced a BIOS update to correct this problem.

MSI Fixes UNSUPPORTED_PROCESSOR Error

After working with Intel for several weeks on this issue, MSI has come up with a solution for the UNSUPPORTED_PROCESSOR error with its motherboards. This issue is related to the firmware setting of Intel Hybrid Architecture and only occurs with 13th Gen i9 Processors on Windows 11 KB5029351, KB5029332 and Windows 10 KB5029331 updates. A new BIOS update will be released to update the Intel CPU uCode by late September for the following motherboards:

  • MEG Z790 ACE
  • MPG Z790 CARBON WIFI
  • MPG Z790 EDGE WIFI
  • MAG Z790 TOMAHAWK WIFI
  • PRO Z790-A WIFI
  • PRO Z790-P WIFI
  • PRO Z790-P
  • PRO Z690-A WIFI
  • PRO Z690-A

It is fortunate that this only affects those with the 13th gen i9 though unfortunate for those who do actually use a 13th gen i9. MSI has provided a video guide below for updating the bios using M-FLASH.
