MSI has announced its MAG GL ATX 3.0 power supply series which features the new Yellow 12VHPWR connector that was shown off a few weeks ago.
MSI’s MAG GL Series power supplies are new fully modular ATX 3.0 compliant power supplies from MSI offering up to 850W of power and an 80-Plus Gold efficiency rating with a single-rail DC to DC structure. These PSUs with their PCIe 5.0 support are ready to tackle the latest high-performing graphics cards whilst maintaining a stable supply of power. The unit itself measures 140 x 150 x 86mm allowing it to fit into most M-ATX cases plus uses a 120mm fluid dynamic bearing fan to keep all the internal components cool.
The staple feature of this power supply is the introduction of the new coloured 12VHPWR cable. The issues surrounding burning 12VHPWR connectors have been routinely blamed on user error and the cables not being plugged in properly which is still heavily debated. Going off of this information MSI has decided to combat that by changing the connector colour to yellow making it easy to see whether it has been plugged in fully or not.
