MSI Clutch GM31 Lightweight Wireless Gaming Mouse Review

How Much Does it Cost?

The MSI CLUTCH GM31 RGB Optical Lightweight Wireless Gaming Mouse is available now from Scan for a very reasonable £59.99. Considering the overall hardware of the mouse, the build quality, and the kick-ass little charging dock it comes with, it’s pretty good value for money. I wouldn’t say it was a bargain, but you feel like you’re getting your monies worth for sure.

Overview

MSI is one of the biggest names in the business when it comes to high-end PC hardware, their motherboard, monitors, and their graphics cards are ragarded as some of the best in the world. Their peripherals, however, I’ve often found to be a little more accessible, they’ve not gone for too many ultra-high-end products in that market yet, which means the prices are pretty reasonable. The MSI Clutch GM31 isn’t the most advanced wireless mouse out there, but for £59.99, it’s surprisingly competitive.

If you’re looking for a lightweight gaming mouse this certainly ticks all the right boxes. Wireless is a welcome bonus, but it doesn’t feel like you’re paying a premium for it either, as the overall hardware, suchas the 12,000 DPI optical sensor and the Omron switches are pretty fantastic and perform well enough for the price.

However, with an (up to) 110 hours battery life, it’s nice to cut the cables and play unteathered. Plus, wireless technology is a far cry from what it used to be, and isn’t a hinderance to competitive gaming performance. That being said, you can plug the mouse in and use it wired too, if you really need to. I love the charging dock too, just drop it on when not in use, and it sits there on display on your desktop, which is a nice bonus.

Overall this is a very nice mouse that’s just as plasant to use in the office as it is in your gaming setup. It looks nice, it’s well made, it’s lightweight and I can’t fault the performance. My big hands do prefer a slightly larger body for a palm rest grip, but if you prefer a more fingertip style grip or have small hands, it’s going to be well suited to you.
