MSI Force GC30 V2 White Multi-Format Controller Review

There are a lot of options out there for anyone wanting a new controller to play games with. The official controllers from Microsoft work with Xbox and PC, Sony’s controllers work on PlayStation and PC, and some of them work on various mobile devices too. However, controllers can be pretty expensive too, with some official models now costing around £60… ouch! For PC and mobile, however, MSI has another option, and it’s their slick new Force GC30 V2 controller, which now comes in a fetching white design. It’s a little more affordable than its console controller rivals, but it promises some unique features that really add to its overall appeal.

The controller can be used in wireless mode thanks to the included USB dongle, or in wired mode with a micro-USB cable. However, MSI also includes a 30cm Android OTC cable for gaming on mobile too. The built-in battery is good for 8 hours, which is a little lower than some big-name rivals, but then again, this is also a less expensive controller. However, for me personally, 8 hours is plenty! What does add to the appeal are the more durable switches, a swappable D-PAD cover (more on that later), and the price!

Features

  • Support for Wireless
  • Support PC, Android and Popular Consoles
  • Long-acting Li-ion Battery Lasting at least 8 Hours Gaming
  • Dual Vibration Motors Inside
  • Durable Switches with Excellent Feel
  • Additional D-Pad Cover
  • 2M Cable & 30 CM Cable for Android

“High accuracy movement with advanced analogue sticks, the Force GC series controllers provide flawless smooth movement. This comes in handy for continuous manoeuvres in vehicles or tracking the enemy with your sights. Gamers can truly enjoy their racing games with the triggers in the Force GC series. Precision with up to 256-level accelerator simulation. Compared to conventional controllers, the Force GC series controllers use button switches with up to 2 million clicks to offer a longer lifespan.” – MSI
