Acoustic Performance
During idle conditions, the GS72 6QE Stealth Pro is almost silent which makes for a fantastic user experience when writing documents, browsing the web or engaging in other basic tasks. Once the system is stressed, the noise levels increase exponentially and can become irritating. To be fair, you have to expect this on a laptop opting for a slim profile.
Power Consumption
As expected, the laptop’s highly-efficient architecture on both the CPU and GPU consumes very little power under heavy load.
Battery Life
The 6-cell 5000mAh battery drained relatively quickly and only just managed to break the 2-hour mark. On the other hand, this isn’t a shocking revelation given the laptop’s slim form factor.
Thermal Performance
MSI’s exclusive Cooler Boost 3 technology is able to maintain good thermals for a laptop of this ilk. For example, the CPU reached a maximum figure of 88C and hit an average of 84C. On another note, the GTX 970M upholds a respectable temperature which is well within the chip’s thermal limitations.
