It seems MSI is constantly expanding their product portfolio these days and the latest product line is the simply named “Gaming Series”. Currently it consists of motherboards and graphics cards but now MSI are deciding to do something quite different and push into the All In One PC market.
MSI’s Gaming Series AIO is based off mobile Intel and Nvidia hardware. At the heart of the system is Intel Ivy Bridge Mobile Core i7 3630QM processor that runs at 2.4GHz across four cores and eight threads with a turbo frequency of 3.4GHz. The chipset is Intel’s HM77 Express chipset and Nvidia’s GTX 670MX provides the graphics with a healthy 3GB of GDDR5 memory. 4GB of DDR3 1333MHz SODIMM RAM is provided and the storage options are a 1TB 7200RPM HDD and optional 128GB SSD.
MSI have opted for Windows 8, there is no Windows 7 or a “no OS” version. The display used is a 27 inch LED backlit 1080p anti-glare display that also has 10 point touch capabilities. Integrated 802.11 b/g/n Wi-FI is included along with 5.1 THX TruStudio Pro speakers, a DVD drive, a 3 in 1 card reader and 2MP webcam.
Other connectivity includes a microphone port, headphone port, two USB 2.0, four USB 3.0 (two side and two rear), HDMI out, HDMI in, VGA out, RJ45 Lan/ethernet and the DC power jack.
Total maximum power consumption of this unit stands at 180W which is impressive considering you will actually get some very high end gaming performance out of it.
I don’t know about you but I am pretty impressed with the hardware MSI have managed to squeeze into such a small and low power device. Let us hope that the price is right. MSI did not disclose availability or pricing details.
