MSI MPG Velox 100R Case Review

Exterior

While not a particularly original design, the MSI MPG Velox 100R is certainly an attractive case. It does have a few unique twists and turns though, but frankly, so do most cases these days. That being said, ARGB, tempered glass, and a slick design still offer plenty to enjoy and you won’t be left disappointed here. There’s a large tempered glass door on the left side, complete with lift-off hinges and a tool-free handle design.

As you can see, the front panel has a stunning angled window on it, showcasing the interior fans and as you’ll see later the RGB lighting. There’s a ventilation section on the left corner, running the full height of the case, with additional ventilation on the right and bottom too. There’s also a dust filtering system built in here, ensuring your build stays nice and clean.

Down the right side, you’ll see some additional ventilation, which has a magnetic dust filter fitted onto the interior. Just like the rest of the metalwork on the case, this panel has got a great quality paint job and it feels nice and robust too.

Around the back, it’s all fairly standard ATX stuff, with the motherboard cut-out, seven expansion slots, and an ATX PSU mount. There are ventilated covers on all the expansion slots, and they’re all metal and reusable covers too. I like that the fan mount has elongated mounts too, as this will allow some height adjustment to improve component compatibility.

Upon the top of the Velox 100R, you’ll find a full-length magnetic dust filter, providing huge amounts of passive heat exhaust. However, you can also mount up to a 360mm radiator here if you so desire. One thing is for certain, airflow and cooling options are plentiful!

There’s a well equipped front panel too, which features a USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 Type C port, two USB 3 ports (finished in black), a built-in RGB lighting control switch, audio jacks, LED indicators and master power controls.
