MSI is one of the biggest and best names in the world for high-performance PC hardware. Their graphics cards, motherboards, systems and many other products rank among the best in the world. With that in mind, when we saw the prototype of their upcoming M.2 SSDs, we knew they were going to be something pretty special. The MSI Spatium M570 Frozr 2TB M.2 Gen5 SSD features a blisteringly fast M.2 NVMe hard drive, topped with a very powerful heatsink that’s sure to make it one of the fastest and coolest drives we’ve ever tested.

Featuring the latest PCIe 5 x4 interface, you’ll need a decent motherboard to get the full potential of this SSD. I bet some decent RAM and a powerful processor too, especially if you want to hit its top-rated speeds. With claims of up to 12400 MB/s read and 11800 MB/s write, this drive is extremely fast, at around 23x faster than a more traditional 2.5″ SATA SSD, loading times should quite literally be a thing of the past. Given the PCIe Gen4 M450 drive that came before this peaked at 3600 MB/s read and 3000 MB/s write, this is a significant generational upgrade.
