Netgear Prosafe WNDAP360 Wireless-N Access Point Review

As highlighted right back at hte start of this review, wireless networking is pretty much a standard addition to any infrastructure these days, and whilst the most common form of wireless router or access point installation is in the home with virtually every connected house having wireless. These domestic class routers and access points however just don’t cut it when it comes to larger scale networks where there is the potential for a vast number of concurrent connections being made and uptime, reliability and pure performance are critical to a stable operation.

With this in light, we can safely say that the WNDAP360 does exactly what’s required for a large scale operation with its vast operating range, even through walls and floors, whilst providing a fairly high level of performance as well. I know there are a few that will argue the fact that a domestic style router will do the job, and whilst in a very small business this may be the case (1-4 people) when we start scaling up, these as said are not designed for that use and also don’t offer the same level of features and security that this does.

Design wise, I like the clean and simple look that the WNDAP360 offers with its white body and uniform build. There are a few other options on the market that are built just to do, but in modern office environments these said units can look out of place, whereas this would easily blend in whether it be wall or ceiling mounted in either orientation.

Cost is a key point, and with something like this the question can be turned around to ask how vital is it that you have a safe and reliable wireless network that has the capability to deliver? I’m sure in the heavier deployments the answer is going to be clear as day and like we find with enterprise level systems, the price tag is a little higher. The WNDAP360 retails for around the £220/ $350 USD, which given the vast number of features and security options on offer, is only a small price to pay in respect.

Bottom line, if you’re after a fast, secure and reliable access point to expand your network capabilities on a larger scale whilst blending in to the surroundings, the WNDAP360 is a true contender and one we would seriously consider.
