When it comes to PC gaming mouse and keyboard are still the weapons of choice, but we’re hardly limited in our choice of peripherals; controllers, flight sticks, steering wheels, motion controls and a whole lot more. Now it looks like there will be yet another option with the release of Ideum’s GestureWork Gameplay virtual controller app for Android devices.
It’s as simple as it sounds, the app allows you to create a custom controller on the screen, which can then be used to control your PC games. The app will be hitting steam very soon and will be $15 to unlock, which is pretty expensive when you thick about it, but for those who like a few casual games, platformers or want to experiment with alternative gameplay methods, then the new app works out much cheaper than buying a controller, as it will run on your smartphone or tablet and is compatible with a wide range of games.
Personally I don’t think I’ll need this, but there is a market for it and who knows, maybe some people just prefer playing on a touch screen controller.
