Nintendo Switch 2 May Be Coming 2024

New sources have suggested that Nintendo’s next console is looking towards a 2024 release with a likelihood of it being a portable “Switch 2” console.

As shared by the Videogameschronicle, Nintendo’s next-gen console is looking at a release in the second half of 2024 after a comment from a Tokyo-based industry consultant Dr Serkan Toto. In a statement to the VGC, Serkan says that 2024 is a strong projection as the original Switch is looking to see double-digit declines in sales plus 2024 will line up with Nintendo’s history of launching within the mid-cycle of PlayStation and Xbox console launches. Additionally, several sources have provided some insight into what to expect from this console though most of the key information is kept very tight-lipped. The sources claim that the new console will be able to be used in a portable mode, will feature a cheaper LCD screen as opposed to OLED and should feature much higher storage capacity over the 32GB Switch.
2024 seems plausible for the new Nintendo console though Nintendo will have a bit more competition in the handheld space.
