A Closer Look
Gaming chairs are usually quite large and heavy, and the C80 is no exception. It comes in a large box, the kind you might expect a large ATX PC chassis to come in. Let’s take a look at all the bits you’ll find in the box.
You do have to assemble this chair yourself, although the instructions are fairly simple, so it shouldn’t take more than twenty minutes for those who know their way around an Allan Key.
A durable steel base mount that joins the seat to the gas lift, and a simple arm on the side to operate the gas lift, which can also be push/pulled to lock the adjustable tilt spring.
A heavy-duty gas lift cylinder, which simply snaps into the base and the chair component, no awkward tooling required.
An extending plastic cover for the gas lift, as well as an assortment of bolts to put the chair together.
Five durable plastic wheels, which feel nice and sturdy, with clip-in metal pegs to quick and easy installation.
A sturdy metal base with hard-wearing grips on the bars to rest your feet on.
The bottom seat part comes with significant amounts of padding and tight stitching. The chair is faux leather, so nothing too fancy, but it looks and feels better than I expected at this price range.
It has a really good thickness to it too, with lots of hard-wearing padding, so you’re not going to feel that hard base plate during those long gaming sessions.
The backrest also has the same thick foam padding and faux leather covering, with some nice detailing to the stitching to keep things looking interesting. There are two padded wings on the side, which help keep your back nice and centered in the chair, and helping give you some extra support when you’re leaning back in the chair.
One of my favourite design aspects is the stitching at the top, it’s much nicer than just having the logo printed on.
Around the back, you’ll find a nice carbon effect finish on the material, helping keep in touch with that racing seat vibe.
It’s obviously not real carbon fiber, but it’s still a nice touch and has a good quality look and feel to it.
The arm rests are single piece items, which means they’re going to be fairly easy to install. They each come with a nice curvy design and a very thick and soft padding to help keep your elbows in good shape.
