How Much Does it Cost?

If you’re looking to invest in a quality chair, you’ll know that quality doesn’t come cheap. You can drop £100 on a “gaming chair” easily enough, but as I’ve learnt from, you’ll be doing that every year as they wear out. I’ve had my EPIC for over two years and it’s still perfect, even if it was £300, I’m still on track to get better value per year. The HERO is more expensive, starting around £349 for the PU leather models (that’s what we tested), and it’s available in a bunch of colour options too. You can even pick up additional cushion sets for just £26.99 should you lose or damage the included ones. However, if you feel like dropping some coin, the leather models a little more premium with prices from £519.95 to £579.97.

Overview

It’s not a shock that this chair might be a bit expensive for many, but really, it’s very good value overall. I could walk into any furniture shop, office supply whatever, Ikea even, and a properly good quality chair will cost you a few hundred quid. The eTeknix boss Andy sits in his Herman Miller and that was £1000 (worth every penny I might add as it’ll likely be the last chair he ever buys). For £350 the HERO is a bargain for the sheer quality you get, even if it looks expensive due to the flood of cheap crap chairs that hit the market these last few years.

Performance

To me, the chair is a firm chair, and that may not be to everyone’s liking. The softer ones tend to wear out super quick though and often use standard foams that just don’t last. This is more like a firm mattress than a bag of foam. However, it’s soft in all the right places, such as the side wings, and the shoulder areas. I love the lumbar support too, as you can have it as relaxed as you desire, or really push your spine to where it should be. It’s certainly helped my sciatica, that’s for sure!

Comfort

For those who need something squishy, those extra cushions make a huge difference. The lower back and the neck and head area can be padded out in seconds. What’s more, should you trash those cushions, you can pick up a second set easily enough and £26.99 is very reasonable. The excellent range of adjustment, as well as it being both spacious for skinnier bodies, and accommodating for larger people too, makes it very versatile. I’m also amazed it’ll hold up to 180KG (that’s over 28st!!!).

Should I Buy One?

If you’re tired of the “gaming chair” craze and all the cheap (sub £150) stuff that’s hitting the market, I suggest you stop replacing your clapped out chair every and buy one that is going to last. You’ll struggle to find a better-made gaming chair at this price. noblechairs have been dominating the market for quality for a few years now, and I’m happy to report that trend continues with the Hero.
