Setup – Storage Manager

We might not have created the storage setup that we wanted during the initialization or maybe we just changed our minds. Whatever the cause might be, we can change it at any given time and also find a lot of useful information within the storage manager.

Hard Drives

The first panel contains all relevant information to the inserted drives. We can also start a bad block scan from here.

The S.M.A.R.T. details of our drives can be read and viewed too, so you can keep an eye on those precious storage drives of yours.

RAID

The RAID settings are where we can view our current drive setup and change it too.

Creating a new RAID setup will require you to delete the old, but that’s a given. We can choose which drives to include which will affect the modes possible. We can also choose to encrypt the volume.

It will take a little while for the new volume to sync, depending on RAID mode chosen, but you can already start to use the setup at this time.

iSCSI

One of the fastest and most flexible ways that you can attach storage to your systems is via iSCSI and that’s also supported on the TerraMaster F2-220

We can create multiple LUNs depending on our needs

Creating a new iSCSI target is just as easy as the rest of the setup was until now and it only takes a few clicks before it’s ready to be used.

We can also connect the NAS to other virtual disks from other systems on your network.

External Storage

The external storage manager allows you to view and format connected drives.
