Storage

Having seen constant highs for the synthetic benchmarks tests, the storage results do, perhaps, take us a little more down to earth. The read speeds are solid, yet not entirely remarkable. At least, not compared to what we’ve seen so far.

The write speeds, however, are once again up there with some of the best we’ve seen.

We should clarify that as this system has two solid-state drives (one NVMe and one SATA) and as such we decided to test both and post the lower of the two scores in our charts. It’s certainly unusual to see a ‘designed’ system containing more than one SSD and, as such, this system is a bit ahead of the curve.

As you might expect, the NVMe drive was significantly more impressive than the standard SATA SDD (NVMe results – 3256 read/1914 write), but the Samsung 860 is clearly no slouch despite its 2TB of storage space!
