Nvidia DLSS 3.7 is Here – Sort Of!

Nvidia DLSS

Nvidia has just released version 3.7.0 of their Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) technology, and the great news is that it appears to improve both upscaled image quality and motion in gaming, which I’m sure is something DLSS users can all appreciate!

While there isn’t a lot of fanfare around this latest update, such as that seen around features like Frame Generation and Ray Reconstruction, this smaller update is still a welcome one, and it’s great to see the technology updated almost constantly to improve its quality and performance. Furthermore, it seems like the latest up could even see a new quality preset introduced as a result.

The new preset is dubbed ‘Eager Donkey’ and is more a developer backend referring to the render press or model which developers can use in their titles, not to be confused with the quality options which are presented on the user side of things. However, one reddit user injected the new DLSS 3.7.0 DLL files into Horizon: Forbidden West, and said that frame rates were already quite a bit higher using an RTX 4090, the highest settings and a 1440p resolution.

However, further users are reporting greatly improved motion clarity too, with fewer smearing and artefact issues, and not just in Horizon: Forbidden West, but several other titles too, including Watch Dogs: Legion, but that it’s not working at all on Cyberpunk 2077. Of course, this is just users cramming the DLL files into their games, and official developer support will roll out in due course.

If you want to grab the DLL files and try them yourself, they’re available on GitHub here.
