Nvidia GTX 780 Ti 3GB Graphics Card Review

A Closer Look

The GTX 780 Ti looks very much like the GTX Titan and GTX 780 in its design. It features Nvidia’s same magnesium alloy cooling solution which has a dense vapor chamber heatsink, a blower style fan and just a rather fancy but awesome looking design.

The rear of the card has spaces for additional memory chips, maybe Nvidia will come out with a 6GB version of it (or allow partners to do that) later on down the line. The PCB is also entirely black which is great for picky enthusiasts like myself.

The bottom of the card is totally closed off with the metallic casing.

The top is also closed off with a rivetted cooler design.

The GTX 780 Ti requires an 8 pin PCIe connector and a 6 pin PCIe connector for power. Nvidia are recommending at least a 600W power supply.

The GTX 780 Ti has two SLI fingers for up to 3 way SLI. As far as we can tell 4 Way SLI is still reserved for GTX Titans only.

The GTX 780 Ti also has the glowing green GEFORCE GTX logo present at the top.

The end is an open vented design to allow for the intake of air which is then exhausted out the back.

The back has dual DVI, single HDMI and single Display Port for a maximum of 4 displays (3+1) with three in Nvidia Surround and one as an accessory display.

The fan is a typical blower style but isn’t as noisy as other rival blower style solutions on the market. It is still loud but the tonality of the noise is much softer.

In total the GTX 780 Ti measures in at 10.5 inches long. Overall the GTX 780 Ti is one great looking card and if we were to battle Nvidia vs AMD on the look of the stock card I think Nvidia would easily win that one.
