Given the number of leaks which had appeared online over the last few days, if Nvidia was planning some kind of major event to launch its newly revised 30XX graphics cards, then with the cat thoroughly out of the bag, it did seem like a bit of a pointless venture. – We all knew they existed, we were literally just waiting for Nvidia to give them the rubber stamp.

Well, following a report via Videocardz, we now have it. Yes, Nvidia has confirmed the launch of its new 3060 and 3060 Ti graphics cards!

Nvidia Confirm Revised 3060 and 3060 Ti GPUs

Starting with the 3060, Nvidia has confirmed that the newly revised design is, as per the recent leaks/rumours, a downgrade from the original version. Featuring 8GB of VRAM (12GB on the original), this has also seen it transition to a 128-bit memory bus which, by proxy, and although lacking official figures just yet, will result in a notably lower amount of memory bandwidth. Aside from this, however, the GPU specifications remain the same (clock speeds, etc.), but based on its overall reduced potency, this should allow Nvidia to bring this new 3060 to market at a notably lower cost when compared to the original model (hopefully something like £299.99 might be achieved).

What about the 3060 Ti though? Well, this is basically the same overall idea, but in the opposite direction. Being upgraded to GDDR6X memory, this should see the graphics card now have a notable faster memory bandwidth. So, a definite improvement on the original (believed to be around 10%), but one which will hopefully not impact its original MSRP price tag.

“To give more choices to gamers and creators, we’re introducing a couple of additional options from our network of graphics card partners worldwide, starting in November.

First is a faster GeForce RTX 3060 Ti with GDDR6X memory, in addition to the original version with GDDR6 memory. Second is a GeForce RTX 3060 with 8GB of GDDR6 memory.

Both new options are supported starting with today’s Game Ready Driver. For more details on each option, visit the GeForce RTX 3060 family product page on GeForce.com.”

Where Can I Learn More?

Despite the comments above, it doesn’t appear that the official Nvidia website (or storefront) has yet been updated for these newly revised designs. Albeit, this isn’t overly surprising since we suspect that the need for an announcement (based on the masses of leaks) came much sooner than they might have originally planned.

With that being said though, by the time you read this the chances are that Nvidia will have gotten around to getting the updates in place, so if you want to learn more, click on the link here!
