NZXT 810 Switch Special Edition Full-Tower PC Chassis Review

It’s easy to see why the original 810 switch was worthy of one our award in our in depth review from February, and our opinions of it haven’t dwindled one little bit since then either, this is still one of the finest examples of PC chassis engineering and design on the market and a case that I can see still selling well for years to come thanks to its expansive list of support for components old, new and especially products that are at the bleeding edge of PC technology, from multi GPU setups, water cooling, modifications and top of the range motherboards.

NZXT may have only given this chassis a new lick of paint, but for me personally I really wasn’t a fan of the high gloss finish of the original, it was a nightmare to keep clean, attracted dust like crazy and even the slightest fingerprint would ruin the overall style of the case, all this is no longer an issue with the matt paint, although I did find the side panel window is still a dust magnet, but this is true of almost all perspex panels.

So now that you have a choice of four colours of the 810 switch, maybe you can find the one that is right for you, gloss white, gloss black, matt black and matt gun metal grey, not exactly a complete range of colours, but its certainly a start. It’s not uncommon for a product that has been popular and selling well though, just look at the iPhone, games consoles, they all go down that “new look” route after a while to spruce up sales, so maybe in six months time NZXT will hit us some brighter colour schemes.

I’m going to award the 810 Switch our Editors Choice award, sure we’ve already awarded it before for this chassis, but I’m a different edititor to the person who wrote the last review and I want to give my approval too.
