How Much Does it Cost?
The NZXT Lift 2 Ergo is available now with a very modest MSRP of $49.99/£52.99 from the NZXT store. I think that’s pretty fair, and about on par with similarly equipped mice from the big-name rivals on the market right now, such as Corsair, SteelSeries, Logitech, Razer, and let’s be honest, quite a few others. It’s a very attractive price considering it’s the same as the NZXT Lift which launched just two years ago, but it’s lighter, faster, and overall just much more capable in terms of hardware and performance.
I actually have used the Lift mouse quite a bit, we have a lot of NZXT products that we use daily in the office, including their last-gen keyboards and mice. So having so much time on the old model gives me a good perspective on how this updated model has really improved on things, and it’s safe to say, it’s a night and day difference.
The new sensor is a big upgrade, going from 16,000 DPI to 26,000 DPI, while also offering some improvement to tracking speed and overall accuracy. It definitely feels smoother and tracks better, which is saying something, as I never felt there was anything wrong with the old model, but this is simply better.
The switches have been swapped from mechanical to optical mechanical, which have a tighter response time, and overall, the general click and feel of them is just nicer, while also increasing their durability considerably to over 100 million clicks, so they’re unlikely to ever need replacing.
The increase in polling rate from 1000 to 8000 is pretty significant too, and while not much benefit to those gaming on 60Hz monitor, those using ultra-low-latency displays such as Fast-IPS or OLED, and gaming at high refresh rates will be able to ensure that input latency can more closely match that of their display latency. It’s nice to see Nvidia Reflex support too, at least if you have a compatible G-Sync display.
Should I Buy One?
The gaming mouse market is extremely competitive and I think it’s fair to say that all of the big-name brands have their own great ultralight mice with great sensors and switches these days, but NZXT hit all the right marks with the Lift 2 and it has the hardware and performance to rival the best of any other brand, at a price that is competitive. If you’re looking to expand your NZXT ecosystem or just looking for a great all-round gaming and daily mouse, you really can’t go wrong with this.
