Final Thoughts
OCZ have always been considered as a brand with something a bit special. Even in the old memory days, they always seemed to have something that was part of the upper crust and it seems that their SSDs are no different.
The likes of HD Tune and ATTO was where this drive really started to shine in both read and write tests though it did seem to lack a bit in AS SSD and CrystalDiskMark, but competitor drives also showed a slight increase in performance here too. That is the main reason why we run a multitude of tests, to give the most clear results across a broad spectrum.
If you are wanting a quick boost in performance, and generally you will find if you are still using an older style mechanical drive for your operating system, it will most likely be bottle-necking the rest of your system, which is where an SSD will truly shine. The likes of the Vertex 2 really gives fantastic results in your everyday tasks from starting Windows, to opening Photoshop. There are so many benefits to an SSD in general that we could be here all day running tests, but OCZ have really made the Vertex 2 perform with the improved design, SandForce controller and good bang for buck.
