Newcastle-under-Lyme, The UK’s number one overclocking guru, body building expert and employee of Overclockers UK, 8-Pack has won $5000 through pure overclocking excellence and putting his full knowledge of the all new “Haswell” CPU under a heated competition at Computex Taiwan.
Overclockers UK employee, 8-Pack who currently holds the highest rank for overclocking in the UK was one of a few hand-picked OC specialists to be invited and flown to Computex Taiwan, putting his profound knowledge to the test in a prestige world’s first 4th Generation Intel processor OC competition. Sponsored by Corsair and Intel, the competition took 20 of the most talented CPU benching experts to see what they could achieve through the use of LN2 (Liquid Nitrogen) on Intels latest Z87 platform.
The main event of the competition was the “Top Speed Competition” with a storming $5000 top prize for the competitor who could provide the best verified SuperPi 32M score. 8-Pack through his dedicated personality, strives to always be number one and keeping his cool under the pressure of all the media, rivals and the clock was able to pull off a 6.55GHz overclock with DRAM OC at 2700MHz and uncore of 5.9GHz on an ASUS Maximus 6 Extreme, Corsair Vengeance Pro memory and using a 4th Gen Intel Core i7 4770k processor finishing with a 7 – 8 second lead on the other challengers.
This is a great achievement for 8-Pack, adding another title and reason why Overclockers UK is the first stop for enthusiasts and gamers alike. As seen in the competition, the same dedication and technical knowledge is focused into our own extreme and gaming systems using Haswsell to provide high-overclocks and the best possible performance. 8-Pack will be updating with extra exclusive information on his win over on the Overclockers UK Forums.
