Ozone Onda Pro X-Surround Pro Gaming Headset Review

A Closer Look

The hard case is pretty cool, it’s certainly strong enough to survive a few hard knocks.

Open it up and you’ll find the headset is secured within, with a smaller pouch in the middle taking care of keeping all your cables and connectors neat and tidy.

Also included with the hard case is a loop at the top of the case and a sturdy quick release clip, meaning you can attach the headset case to the exterior of a LAN bag, making it really easy to transport.

The microphone features a small, flexible and positional boom, a 3-pin 3.5mm jack on one end and a nicely finish microphone head on the end with a slight chrome look to it.

The in-line controller is a little bulky and ugly in my opinion, but it’s size makes it pretty easy to handle. It features all the basic volume and mute controls that you’ll need quick access to while gaming.

The headset is finished in mixtures of glossy white plastics, soft white and light grey padding. It looks superb from every angle and all the plastics feel of a premium quality.

The headband has been treated with an Onda logo across the top in a grey that matches the padding on the ear cups.

Each ear cup is mounted on a pivot to help ensure a good fit, while the back of each ear cup is ventilated with a hard mesh backing.

The headband has been treated with a very generous amount of soft padding that will certainly provide a comfortable fit for those long gaming sessions.

The ear cups are also treated with a super soft padding and this will help provide a clean fit around your ears, helping to block out external noise and providing a good level of comfort.

Below the ear cup you’ll find a small recess with a 3.5mm jack socket for the detachable microphone.

The extender is only made of plastic, but it feels strong and locks firmly into place when extended.

The noise cancelling microphone is easily adjusted thanks to its flexible boom, meaning you should have no issues finding the ideal speaking position.

As a child still in my 30's (but not for long), I spend my day combining my love of music and movies with a life-long passion for gaming, from arcade classics and retro consoles to the latest high-end PC and console games. So it's no wonder I write about tech and test the latest hardware while I enjoy my hobbies!
