Ozone Strike Mechanical Gaming Keyboard Review

The contents of the box consist of the Strike Keyboard, a user guide and a wrist rest.

Straight out of the packaging you are presented with a fairly normal looking black keyboard, albeit with a few casual blood splatters.

The back of the Strike features four rubber feet to ensure there is no movement when mashing the keys. There are also two supports that can be used to raise the height of the keyboard at the back.

There are four connectors coming out of the Strike, which means it has a fairly thick, braided cable coming out of the keyboard. The four connectors consist of a 3.5mm headphone and mic jack, USB to provide power to the USB ports and of course the main USB connection, which also comes with a PS2 adaptor.

Moving back to the keyboard, along the top there are several media keys, that when pressed alongside the “Ozone” key, control various functions such as volume, and audio/video related functions.

The bottom left “windows” key has been replaced with an “Ozone” key that no longer has the same function as the windows key, instead it acts as a function key in conjunction with the media keys above.

The top right corner features the model name and a blood splatter alongside the usual caps/num/scroll lock lights.

Along the top side of the Strike are two USB 2.0 ports and a 3.5mm mic and headphone port, that can only be used if the matching cable seen above, is plugged in.

The main feature of the Ozone Strike is the Cherry MX Black switches. They provide a higher level of resistance than the other mechanical switch types, but offer a linear and tactile movement. Ozone have also provided a key removal tool and WASD key replacements that just have a red coloured labels instead of white (not photographed).

The Strike also comes with a wrist rest as seen in the first photo. This is just a plain black colour, but with a small blood splatter in the lower left corner.

So now we’ve had a good look at all the features, lets put the strike to the test.
