I have had this unit in testing for several weeks now, I wanted to test it in all reasonable environments from in the car to out on location. As I am a Photographer I find myself needing power to charge various devices on location with no means to do so from a mains outlet, so a portable power pack like this would prove to be the ideal solution to that and I found no issues at all in this scenario.
I also tested the Fuel+ within a controlled environment and found it could charge a Galaxy Note 2 and Note 3 in a similar timeframe to the mains USB chargers that ship with those smartphones. The Note 3 uses a 2Amp charging current so this was an ideal opportunity to test the rated output of the Fuel+. I also tested charging 2 devices at the same time, after all, what use is it having 2 ports if you cannot use them both at once.
The Note 3 and Lumia phones recognised an AC power source once connected at the same time and as with the solo testing, I found no problem with charge times here either. Usually with cheaper chargers of this nature if you connected up 2 devices one might register the charging source as USB only because the charging circuitry is shared between both ports but Patriot appear to have isolated each port and they both run independently to each other. This is pleasing to see.
