Patriot Viper V570 Blackout Edition RGB Mouse Review

Final Thoughts

How Much Does it Cost?

The Patriot Viper V570 RGB Blackout Edition Laser Mouse is available now for just £52.58 on Amazon. That’s amazing value too, as the original still costs £52.99, and doesn’t look half as good as its blacked out replacement. The Mouse Pad is another £45.48 which seems a bit steep but is still a little more affordable than many of its main rivals.

Overview

Once again, Patriot has proven that it has got what it takes to compete with the big boys in the peripheral world. Perhaps their experience in the memory market has taught them a few things, and it’s paid off. The mouse doesn’t look as refined as some rival products though, perhaps it still seems a little too extreme and “gamer-y” to appeal to my more mature sensibilities. However, it’s far from ugly, and I know many will like the more outlandish design choices.

Blackout

The Blackout edition was no doubt thanks to user feedback. The Black/Red model looks and performs great, but going for a more unified look really nails it. when it comes to RGB lighting, it works best on a more neutral coloured product, and that’s exactly what you get here.

RGB

The RGB lighting is easily competitive with other products on the market, it’s not groundbreaking, it’s not the best, and far from the worst. However, at this price range, it’s exactly what I had hoped for in regards to features. What does impress, is the vividness and brightness of the colours, which really do pop.

Performance

This is the real winner for the Viper range. It competes with anything else out there, and the sensor proves to be a fantastic tool for any kind of work or gaming. Combine that with a plethora of fully programmable buttons, as well as a powerful macro engine, and you’ve no excuses for not being in control.

Should I Buy One

At this price range, I can’t recommend this mouse enough. There are similar many-button mice available from other big name brands, and they can easily be a lot more expensive. I wouldn’t say this is a budget mouse, but for what it offers, it’s certainly great value for money.
