PC Specialist Vanquish X200 Gaming Rig Review

Out of the box we see that the system uses the popular and robust Corsair 200R chassis, a product which already earned our eTeknix Bang for Buck award in our review. On the side of the chassis we have a little warningthat asks you to remove the packaging from within the case, this was put in place to prevent component damage during shipping.

The 200R is a nice looking case, nothing too fancy, but it is highly functional. Obviously because of how PC Specialist work, you can always pick a different chassis at the checkout, so we’ll not focus on the chassis choice here any longer.

The front panel comes fitted out with a good quality DVD-RW drive and of course we also have the twin USB 3.0 ports, the headset and microphone ports front the chassis I/O panel.

Around the back we can see that everything looks neat and tidy, and that the GPU has plenty of airflow thanks to the ventilated expansion slot cover.

The interior of the chassis comes with a protective padded pouch, this is moulded around the CPU cooler, graphics card and other major components to prevent them moving in transit.

With the packaging out of the way we can see that PC Specialist have put some fine components into this system and while it may not offer the eye candy of some premium rigs, its highly functional in terms of design. The chassis we have here doesn’t feature a windowed panel so colour coordination isn’t an issue and the mixture of browns and reds shouldn’t offend. Cable management looks a little rough around the edges but its more than sufficient as all major cables are grouped together and moved well out of the way of fans, providing all major components with a clean airflow.

The PSU is inverse mounted, taking full advantage of the 200R bottom air intake, the XFX GPU has more than enough breathing room for its Ghost cooler and so too does the Corsair water cooler.

The front of the chassis sports the DVD burner, 120GB Kingston SSD and a 1TB hard drive, leaving plenty of extra room for storage expansion.
