Play the Demo of Tomb Raider 2 Unreal Engine 4 Remake Now!

Tomb Raider 2 in Unreal Engine 4

Earlier this year we brought you news that the fan remake of Tomb Raider 2 in Unreal Engine 4 was making great progress. Better known as Tomb Raider The Dagger of Xian, this is one project that looks beyond awesome. Creator Nicobass has now released a public demo of the project, and anyone can download and enjoy it today!

What’s in the Demo?

The demo includes a large section of the Great Wall level and provides a good hour of gameplay. That’s a lot more than we expected and only helps highlight how far this project has progressed.

Don’t Worry about C&D

If you’re concerned that this project will be shuttered before it’s complete, don’t. Crystal Dynamics has already given it the thumbs up, with one condition. The project is not allowed to be monetized, but beyond that Nicobass is free to continue on the remake. Of course, this is awesome news for the PC gaming and modding scene.

Minimum Requirements

You’ll need a DirectX 11 graphics card with at least 4GB of RAM. However, Nicobass suggests 8GB. Windows 7 64-bit OS, and 6GB of hard disk space. No word on the CPU requirements, but I’m guessing a fast dual core, or any quad-core from the last 5 years would do the trick just fine.
