TWiT.tv, the tech-centric podcast network founded by former TechTV ‘The Screen Savers’ host Leo Laporte, has announced their annual 24 hour charity streaming marathon.

The network will be broadcasting live online from 3am on New Year’s Eve up until 3am New Year’s Day direct from the TWiT Brick House in Petaluma, California. The show will be raising money for UNICEF. Leo Laporte and friends will be ringing in the New Year in every time zone on the planet, with the intention of joining a citizen of each time zone via Skype.

TWiT was founded in 2005 by Leo, a man famous on US TV screens mostly for his work on ‘The Screen Savers’. The network was set up with the intention of being a 24 hour, around the clock tech news service, broadcasting live throughout the day. A number of its podcasts have become essential viewing for tech lovers – such as MacBreak Weekly, This Week in Google, Windows Weekly, iPad Today, The Giz Wiz, Tech News Today and the network’s namesake, This Week in Tech. The network now has a countless number of shows all fronted by tech’s most famous faces.

Be sure to join them on New Year’s Eve from 3am PST at live.twit.tv and of course don’t forget to donate.
