QNAP Launches TS-216G NAS 2.5GbE NAS Featuring an Integrated NPU

QNAP, one of the leading providers of networking and storage equipment has today launched its new TS-216G NAS, a high performance 2-bay storage solution which is designed for individuals, families and small businesses.

The TS-216G is equipped with an ARM quad-core processor alongside 4GB of RAM, 2.5GbE, and an NPU (Neural Network Processing Unit) which is one of its key selling points. The NPU is designed for AI applications and with this NAS it can remarkably accelerate image recognition for the AI-powered QuMagie smart photo management especially when importing many photos at a time. This NPU reduces the load on the CPU and results in higher computing performance and lower power consumption for the TS-216G.

The unit supports up to two storage drives up to 39TB of capacity including both 3.5″ drives and 2.5″ drives within the two slots. These slots use a hot-swappable design allowing you to swap out drives without interrupting system operations. For I/O there is a power and reset button alongside 1x USB 3.2 Gen 1 on the front, 2x USB 2.0 on the rear, and 1x Gigabit Ethernet Port and 1x 2.5 Gigabit ethernet port pm the rear.
