Qpad 5K Pro Gaming Laser Mouse Review

A Closer Look
First glance of the mouse reveals it to be quite “chunky” with a wide design and odd shape but does fit my hand very well. It is quite a sleek design in black with the white Qpad logo. The material used on the mouse can only be described as rubber which sadly attracts dust like a moth to a flame but does give a comfortable feel straight away.

Straight away you can see the amount of dust collected on the mouse, especially around the Qpad logo which is branded in clear, crisp white to give precedence. The right side of the mouse has 2 grooves for placement of your ring finger and baby finger or “pinky” and uses the same material as the rest of the mouse for fantastic grip.

The left side of the mouse uses the rubber grip material and is perfectly moulded for your thumb to rest on whilst giving access to the thumb buttons for various different functions depending on the application you have open. For browsing the internet, you will find these buttons extremely handy for going backwards and forwards between pages whilst in game, you may find uses for reloading your weapons and for using voice chat. Of course, these buttons do have a plethora of functions, that are different for all applications and games you may try it with.

Also near to these buttons is what you would think to be seen on a wireless mouse for a battery indicator, but is actually for showing you whether the mouse is in one of two DPI settings being “low” or “high”. This is showed through one of two LED’s and is a very interesting concept as it may confuse user’s at first due to the panel normally being used as a battery indicator, but as this mouse is wired, that isn’t the case.

The top of the mouse sees the usual left and right buttons that we expect as well as the normal scroll wheel made from a clear rubber substance. This can be used to scroll up and down and can also be clicked in for extra functionality dependant on the application being used at the time.

Also on the top are two buttons which are used for switching DPI mode between the low and high settings. This works in conjunction with the LED indicator to inform you what mode you are in. This gives you the ability to adjust the DPI to give you better, improved sensitivity. This can be extremely useful when using applications like Photoshop where you may be using the lasso tool to get clear intricate work done.

The underneath of the mouse shows exactly how wide the mouse is at the base. We can see the already installed Teflon strips with the Qpad information also featured. In the middle of the mouse is the laser with the Qpad logo and “Gaming Grade Laser Mouse” wording surrounding it.

The USB connector is gold plated to give increased connectivity and more importantly to look nice. One nice thing about the cable used is that is vaguely reminds us of a shoe lace with a material like shielding around the cable to help insulate and to give a stylish look over other mice on the market.
