Performance
The Razer Ferox speakers are aimed at the portable gaming market and have mobile gamers in mind with their small size and big, bold claims.

You will have to bear in mind that there are no set benchmarks for products of this nature, and thus it is one man’s intepretation on the quality, and therefore you may find it differs from your own experience.

We used the Ferox speakers for a few days and noticed that the sound was something we could live with on a long-term basis. Generally with new audio products, you will find a change in sound after a prolonged time, but these speakers remained clear and punchy throughout.

Music Listening

The sound is clear, but finding a nice level of amplification and sound quality proved to take a few minutes for initial setup. The speakers do boast a lot of bass with its resonance chamber and increased air, but we think the claims may be a bit hopeful. By all means the bass is clear and punchy but don’t expect to feel the room shake and you will find that it’s more of a mid-range bass than low frequency nose bleed sound.

Gaming

Playing games was very much the same, and though the speakers feature omnidirectional technology, the lead isn’t really long enough to spread the speakers apart on our test desk to get full immersion into that. Also being used to a £300+ 5.1 speaker system, gives us somewhat of a biased view towards 2.0 speaker setups.

Movies

Movies is where sound really comes alive and for the best part did with these speakers as it gave clear sound effects and speech as well as giving you the feeling that you are listening to a more expensive, bigger set of speakers than we actually were.

Durability

We don’t believe in throwing our test samples off of our 40ft roof, as it’s unlikely that anyone will be in the same position where that would happen, but we can safely say that they feel of good build quality and would be hard to break without considerable force.
